Our FAB team have decades of experience between them, having worked across a wide spectrum of events. We are a group of dedicated professionals who thrive on creating lasting memories for our clients and audiences.

We enjoy taking on new challenges, working hard to build experiences that we are proud of… and having a good time along the way!

Jess Shields

Director

Prior to setting up Far and Beyond Events with Hannah, Jess worked at Live Nation Entertainment UK for nine years, managing some of the UK’s largest music festivals and events. Jess knows the events industry inside out, having been Festival Manager for many large scale events including Download, Creamfields, and Electric Daisy Carnival UK, as well as managing a variety of diverse events such as Lollibop (a childrens festival), and the BT London Live Site for the Paralympics at Trafalgar Square. Jess has also worked as Artist Liaison Manager on some of the UK’s most highly regarded events, including BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and the NFL International Series, as well as touring with some of the world’s most prestigious artists such as Madonna and U2.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB: Watching an idea turn into a reality, and all that’s in between. Then standing on the ground at your event and seeing all of your hard work come to life.

Hannah Farnham

Director

Hannah and Jess set up FAB to share their professional experience with like-minded clients. Having worked for the world’s largest Music and Event Producer Live Nation for the last 15 years as Head of Production and Events (UK) Hannah has unparalleled insight into the management of commercial and non-commercial events. Whilst at Live Nation Hannah worked across 100’s of events and tours servicing millions of customers. Her team specialised in the delivery of the company’s internal Festivals and Tours such as Creamfields, Download Festival, Lollibop, Wireless Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and stadium tours with artist such as Madonna, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Police. The team also serviced events for external clients including Radio One Big Weekend, Sainsbury’s Super Saturday, BT London Live (London’s Screening Sites for London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games), Live 8 and Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Celebrations.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB: The people. I love watching people enjoying themselves at the event we help create and not giving a care to all the hard work that goes into planning and building of an event.  It’s the best motivation.

James Sharples BA(Hons) MIFireE MIFSM MIIRSM TechIOSH

Head of Health and Fire Safety

James has worked in Health & Fire Safety for over 18 years and specialises in Event Risk Management. He has provided Health & Fire Safety Services to large Clients including Live Nation, Festival Republic, the Great Dorset Steam Fair and SEL UK at events such as; Hard Rock Calling, Wireless Festival, Download Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Creamfields, Global Gathering and London Food Month Night Market.

James has a wide range of qualifications from organisations and bodies including the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), the University of Derby, the Fire Service College the Fire Protection Association and the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations Europe (CFPA-Europe), which include; Occupational Health & Safety, Spectator Safety, Fire Safety, Water Safety, Accident Investigation and Food Safety.

James is also a full Member of The International Institute of Risk & Safety Management, a full Member of The Institute of Fire Safety Managers, a full Member of The Institution of Fire Engineers and a Technical Member of The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB: I love finding practical solutions to risk management ensuring clients objectives are fulfilled safely. My end goal is always to ensure all participants from contractors and staff to customers have good experiences in sometimes challenging environments.

Chris Hannon

Event and Site Logistics Manager
(SMSTS QUALIFIED – CITB SITE MANAGEMENT SAFETY)

Chris joined the FAB family having previously worked across a host of different scale and genres of events in both indoor and outdoor venues. Chris has a built-up a catalogue of supplier and contractor relationships within the event industry that make it easy to fulfil all project or event specifications on budget. Chris also provides in house CAD design expertise which FAB can offer all its clients.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB: Being able to see the perfect event setup and delivery, moments before hundreds and thousands of people arrive to enjoy themselves. As well as witnessing the first few people enter an event quickly and enthusiastically laying claim to their idea of the optimal position to be in to pitch the perfect tent or to take in the great production of top events.

Charlotte Hamand

Event and Licensing Manager

Before joining FAB Charlotte worked for Festival Republic and Live Nation working predominantly in their Licensing and Health and Safety Team and also working closely with the Event teams to deliver some of the UKs biggest Music Festivals. Charlotte specialises in event documentation and on-site implementation ensuring the paperwork reflects both best practice, legislation and real life on site practicalities. Charlotte has gained unparalleled experience working on dozens of events forging fantastic relationships with local authorities and agencies across the UK, at events including; Download Festival, Creamfields, Steel Yard and Wireless Festival. Her experience sits perfectly across FAB’s key event services Health and Safety and Event Operations.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB: The moment you open, there’s no better feeling than watching people turn up, excited to be there and immerse themselves into everything you have grown from an idea to real life. It makes all the hard work worth it and spurs you on to keep developing the show.

Izzy Sturrock

Event Manager

Izzy has extensive knowledge of the events industry having worked as a Project Coordinator for Live Nation in the Production & Events team. Izzy worked across their roster of high profile tours and festivals managing many aspects from commercial partnership fulfilment to creative content. Since leaving Live Nation Izzy has worked on a diverse range of events nationally and internationally from food festivals, music touring to most recently facilitating the site operations on 2018 London Chinese New Year Celebrations across Chinatown and Trafalgar Square. During her time in the events industry Izzy has been engaged across a number of different elements from Artist Liaison to Operations Management. Izzy is well versed in pre-event planning through to onsite delivery, her extensive experience means she is an excellent planner and trouble-shooter.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB: One of my favourite elements of working in events are those first few days of the build when all of your planning starts falling into place. As the build commences those ideas that you and your team have pulled together starts to become a reality, there is no other feeling in the world than seeing all of your hard work come to fruition.
